I'd say the only way to make real art using AI would be to create a few scenarios
An artist limits their materials to have to be AI generated images and they use the images to create something relatively original using maybe even thousands of images
Or, prompts that are so specific that the AI no longer has the ability to pull from training data and has to conceptualize what words mean. Basically prompts that break the AI by cleverly leveraging what it has seen against it. Make it make something it's never seen before and have it actually critically think
