AI is a productivity tool. The best such tool to have dropped on developers’ laps in decades. Otherwise it’s business as usual. The net effect of AI will be an overall increase in productivity- more software, more capability , at a quicker pace. Not unemployed developers. Devs will have to adapt and the expectation from them will be to be 5x more productive than they used to be before. Otherwise they will be unemployed.
