Interesting interview, but I had to check out when he said he’s “almost certain we’re living in a simulation.” That kind of claim collapses on itself: if we seriously doubt the reality of our own minds and experiences, then we lose any basis for trusting our reasoning—including the reasoning that leads to the simulation theory in the first place. It’s clever, but self-defeating.
Also, the comment that “all religions are the same—superintelligent being, broken world, some food rules and a day off” is a huge oversimplification. Religions aren’t just collections of rules or metaphors—they’re entire worldviews built on different ideas about what’s real, what it means to be human, and what the ultimate good is. Saying they’re all the same is like saying all sciences are the same because they use math. You miss the real differences that matter.
We need deeper thinking—about AI, about consciousness, and about meaning itself. Not just clever soundbites.
