Not seeing the issue so long as government plays a role so that the country/citizens sees the benefits instead of the few. Find something else for all those people to do or put out a base wage for each citizen if the advantage is so great. Robot/AI tax is a good idea, because a lot of people will have a hard time transitioning. Same with taxing the companies more, since government has a massive debt problem.
Near future will have AI, Nuclear Fusion, lifespan extending medical technology, better batteries, and better materials. Trick is for the US to survive past a decade so these various technologies can come to fruition. US debt/interest issue is huge (1 trillion in net interest payments a year), world war III is huge (Russia escalating against NATO, China building invasion fleet, North Korea, India/Pakistan, Thailand/Cambodia, etc), US not investing in technologies due to policy makers (see war on information ala Trump).
