Two things they said that I know aren’t true. I drive between Dallas and Houston every now and then, truck driver myself, and both times I’ve seen Aurora trucks was at night and one was in heavy rain. That’s two things Aurora has said they don’t do. Both times I was on the road next to them, it annoyed me. Those trucks don’t make evasive maneuvers, they just slow down. If I see something, I move over and keep going. These aren’t doing that. I traded places with them multiple times. Kept saying to myself, get the hell away from me.
Without large scale vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communication, these autonomous trucks, and cars, are dangerous.
As far as the line about zero fatalities; not a chance. As I said above, lacking Vehicle to vehicle and vehicle to infrastructure communication, and sharing the road with human drivers, there will be accidents.
