Sadly Bernie, in the democratic west, fascism in rising and AI may well play a part in controlling the majority of people to keep them powerless. While the USA remains a culturally/politically conservative country with an in-built belief in "getting rich", there's little hope for real economic progress. AI is self defeating, causing mass lay-offs shrinking the buying power of millions, risking economic collapse.
