the job layoffs wrt AI is JUST disruption. this level of disruption has happened many times before and after a period of disruption, jobs in surrounding fields or sectors 10x or more. Every time. The loom, steel, the steam engine, railroads, electricity, the assembly line, roads, the automobile, computers, the internet, on and on. doesn't feel great for those caught in the short term weather, and we should help them some, but this is just another boom that will make all our lives better and more productive in the end. relax a little. not the apocalypse.
