He got something half-wrong at the start: the name is not wrong. It's just that some people interpret it wrong. The name "Artificial Intelligence" has never meant anything like "real intelligence achieved through artificial means", it has always meat quite literally "FAKE intelligence". AI means fake intelligence. It's a computer program that aims to mimic a certain behavior that *seems intelligent.* It's programmed to *pretend to be intelligent.* It's indeed not intelligence, but the name "AI" refers precisely to it being fake.
For many decades that the majority of AI that's been out there was (and still is) videogame NPCs and enemies. And no one ever thought they were making NPCs intelligent, everyone always thought of it as making them *look like* they're intelligent.
