AI threatens to take jobs, but they are firing people before AI actually does take the job. The hope is that your existing experts will use AI to replace the employees that were fired. In my experience, this hasn't happened or wasn't happening in the software company I was at. The mass unemployment of tech is mostly a result of financial forecasting and investor pleasing more than anything else.
