Everyone must remember that the police are seeking to find people who they can CONVICT of crimes with little or no regard to those who commit crimes. They prey on those who for any one of many non-criminal reasons which makes them easy to convict for crimes which they have not committed, i.e. they are easy to coerce into false confessions or do not know how to defend themselves from the police's tactics... That is what is going on in these "algorithms" it is not about stopping crime but identifying those that they get CONVICTIONS on.
