Lies lies! My job is being offshored next month. For the past year we have been doing knowledge transfers with a team out of Mumbai for an Indian MSP my employer contracted. They’re also spreading the baloney AI lie to the public when I know personally it’s complete BS. I know a lot of former colleagues at other companies going through the same exercise where their employer partners with the likes of Infosys, TCS and Wipro. Absolutely no way my job as a database developer can be replaced by AI right now. The workflows require too much human engagement with third parties. My job involves less than 25% coding. Most professional non-technical roles also have the same complicated workflows that one cannot just deploy some LLM to replace in one shot. It’s idiotic to think that can be done right now. Can’t believe the media is taking this lie wholesale from these lying self serving corporates. Or the ignorance on full display from the comments.
