The economics you describe is not taking into consideration the consumption side. Yes there will be B2B AI but without consumers the whole corporate structure will fail. At some point the unemployment will force some type of UBI. It will start with an enhanced unemployment benefits with a gradual transition to a UBI. Where the money will come from? The same AI corporations that fire its employers will be taxed. Maybe a proportional tax based on how many people are being replaced or something similar. It is kind of a natural restrain. Like the land speed for cars. Since the 1940's cars can go over 100MPH however it is not possible to go that fast normally. Yes you can have some supercars but only in the Autobahn you will be able to drive that fast. Only a handfull of car manufacturers make cars going too fast. The speed for cars has a "plateau" for the last 70 to 80 years. AI is the same, the economics don't work. Politicians will see an opportunity for UBI and those in unemployment will vote for that guy. The technology restrain can't be considered. The amount of electricity needed for model training and normal AI data center operations will demand so much power that will push electricity prices so high that AI data centers along with crypto farms will be forced to generate their own power. Again, politicians will take care of passing laws against AI/Crypto to tap into the grid. The rate of growth for electric power for AI is way bigger than ther rate of growth of normal electric generation and its electric grid is not good enough for such bigger power transmission. At some point being on planet Earth will be too costly for AI companies. Their natural evolution is going into space. A data center in high orbit where there is not attenuation by the athmosphere and no nights limiting the electric generation by solar power is better than staying on the planet surface. About 75% of the electricity needed by AI right now is for cooling the GPUs. The higher the Floating-Point Operations the hotter become the chip and a slowdown occurs. Up there in space where sub freezing temperatures are consistent, there is no need to use electricity for cooling the GPU's and if needed it will be minimum. AI is here and will no go away. A general super intelligence is something that need to be avoided at all costs. IMHO
