I love your videos, Sajjad! At 7:05, you mention that out of the 1.17 million who were laid off in 2025, only 5% lost their jobs "because AI automated them." However, I couldn't find any evidence for this. Mind citing your source?
I could only find a Guardian article mentioning that in 2025, AI was cited as a reason for more than 54,000 layoffs. That’s roughly 5 percent. But that figure doesn’t include all the cases where automation or AI quietly replaced human roles without being officially labeled as such.
As far as I know, no comprehensive, in-depth study has captured the full picture yet. And if someone actually did that research, I suspect the numbers would be significantly higher.
