Today, there are two social contracts: one for the working class and one for the capitalist class. you either earn your existence through labor or ownership. If AI makes the former untenable then people must transition to the latter, where capital itself becomes the means of survival. But this transition is impossible if the world’s wealth remains concentrated in the hands of a few, because entry into that second contract requires ownership that the majority can no longer afford.
