They actually set the machine up with parameters that drove it to the decisions it made.
Just like the Grok incident it was set with parameters the removed certain guard rails and asked leading questions.
It is still just code reacting to what we tell it to do and how we interact with it.
While AI may be the tool that ends us it will be people pushing it to do so.
