It seems you believe consciousness is defined or atleast characterized by the biological necessity of sleep, spiraling thought patterns, worrying, etc.
This is a widely rejected and anthropomorphic interpretation of what consciousness is, it is loosely defined as the sensation of what it's like to be and could be an emergent property of some configuration of neural networks we incidentally (or purposefully) recreate.
Whether or not AI will become consciousness has nothing to do with whether it wants to be.
