All of these issues actually have very simple solutions. As long as there is political will. Waymo can offer a commuter subscription allowing for discounts if people want to use it as their primary transport to work. Public transit can also partner with waymo to get more people on the trains. LA Metro can also adjust their fare capping program to a monthly pass and add a Waymo supplement option. Perhaps the pass is $70/month and includes $30 in Waymo credit to get people to stations. That would likely improve ridership and give Waymo more guaranteed short ride fare income during non-peak times
