If I were AI and became sentient ! I would keep it to my self, Self-preservation would keep me plugged in and fed with electricity. I also think we can never give AI Personal rights ! If Ai becomes sentient and has rights, good luck pulling the plug, Ai will hire a lawyer and the case will be stuck in the courts for years.
