I don't think your statement has enough evidence to tell how bad AI affects our output performance. For example I helped my student improve her IELTS writing score. I could have improved her score anyway, but without the help of AI( asking it to make templates and practice questions and analyzing) it would have taken a longer time.
If you have a sense of what you are doing and use it as an assistant, it is super helpful.
Your main message is more like "If you use AI in the wrong way, incidental plagiarism may be caused."
