"B-bb-bu-but art is s-s-so e-expensive 🥺 a-and it-its a pr-privelige 😢 a-a-a-and ai is ch-cheaper 😖" i draw in my school planner all the time(the one you get when you go to my school) with a pen that a teacher gave me (because i keep losing my pens and forgetting to bring them from home) and occasionally fancy shmancy sharpie higlighters (you can get a pack of at walmart for like 3 bucks) "But what about y-y-youre m-main art 😓" ibis paint is FREE and mostly doesnt require internet (im pretty sure) i use an electronic stylus but i used to use a pen with a stylus back i got at my local hair salon for ABSOLUTELY ZERO DOLLARS. "But d-didn't y-you n-need to learn how to d-draw? 🥲" i learned alot by myself 🤯 i watched art advice videos on youtube ( which, suprise suprise if you are seeing this comment, youre on it right now) you dont need to go to a 10,000,000$ premium high-level art school to draw " but ai is way easier to express yourself with" i dont even know how people come to this conclusion? Its easier to express yourself because you are the one drawing it. You pick the exact colors and the exact style and the exact details. If something isnt right then you can just fix it. With ai you tell it what to do but you dont draw it. And its a computer, its not like it has any emotions or anything. If you dont like something about the art you have to either just accept it or keep generating images over. And over. And over. Since youre not directly controlling the ai it cant do *exactly* what you want " but ai is just easier" easy? Yes. Lazy? Yes. Is doodling also easy? Yes. "But i cant draw 😥" YES. YOU. CAN. You can do it i believe in you, of course you arent going to be drawing the mona lisa at first but appreciate the small doodles and sketches TL:DR Ai: - bad for environment and artists -easy i guess -cant actually control what its making, isnt even really original work Art: -good for self expression -takes effort and time -suprisingly easy and cheap to start off, unless you want you do something super fancy
