'  I'm just so confused how she talks about art. Think whatever you want about anime and games dear reader, but I enjoy those mediums quite a lot and it's always so frustrating to hear of a show canceled because it didn't make enough money, or how it never was meant to be continued, since it was only partially adapted to sell the source material. That's actually something that does happen. Or how games are filled with bs mechanics that are there only to make as much money as possible.   I don't have artist friends. I had a photographer girlfriend and it was the most boring thing ever to listen about stuff I couldn't care less, especially considered how she held contempt towards my preferred art medium.   The reality is that everything that's consumed art wise, whether books, live action, animated, music, is controlled by profit driven companies. AI genuinely has a potential to change that. Sure it's nowhere near the level today, but imagine prompting an AI to remake a show ruined by producers, or continue one that was cancelled. Or how about making a high budged personalized story in your genre of choice, no matter how niche the genre. You wont get that today because it just wouldn't make money. But with AI you could.   In fact that could actually make people enjoy more "high" art rather then whatever the high dopamine slop is made today by actual people. You could share your personalized story with your friends and discuss it, and have an experience nobody else on the entire earth had.   It seems from the get go, that there's bias around the fact that people misuse the currently limited capabilities of AI, rather then actually trying to see potentially amazing things it could be.
