The people defending AI generated art are not true artists and can't understand how personal the process of creating is to a true artists. I've been drawing for as long as I could hold a pencil and practiced long hours to improve over a number of years. I'm currently not doing art professionally, but still create personal work because it's part of who I am. There's nothing more satisfying than seeing the results of your hard work when you finish a piece of art. Watching videos of non-artists generating, not creating, art from AI and praising their so-called "creations" disturbs me. How can people be proud of something in which the only effort made was typing in some prompts? They put in no time or effort to understand composition, anatomy, perspective, color theory, and so on. They don't care that these "creations" are based off the hard work of people who spent years honing their craft, only to have it collected into a database without permission or compensation and then watch the bastardized results be flaunted by vultures who lack the initiative to actually learn to illustrate.
