Tens of millions of current Americans will see their jobs in danger from either AI or cheaper immigrants, but AI isn't there yet across the board. Tesla's Optimus, for example, will need another 10 years of development and being mostly a remotely operated tool before it can perform simple house jobs fully autonomously without errors. More complicated jobs around the house like roof repair or complete heating system installs done fully autonomously is still 20 to 25 years away. Today's crashing birth rates tell that by then there won't be anyone around to replace - Optimus & Colleagues are going to be the main workforce. Not so much as replacements, but more like successors.
