As a law student I had recently presented on this on a research paper even before this deepfake video came out. I had criticized about laws around the world for not using the terms like AI or deepfake in IT acts of india or creating cyberlaws exclusively for these types of crimes which is actually enough to create strong punishments and warned in my presentation that this might lead to bigger problems such as sextortion and revenge porn because its becoming more easy for people to have access on porn videos and any photos of literally anyone. Unfortunately the judges were simply confused and kept saying that the present laws were enough to punish the criminals here and started making fun of me. And now this news really frustrates because its literally the same thing I warned about and people making a mockery out of it.
