19:16 In "AI-Demic, The Inevitable Apocalypse" the bureaucracy of Selfridge was super exploitive and whack (in about all of the senses of it). The UBI in the novel was the foundation of a pyramid scheme where all efforts were aimed toward the top 1%. Everything can be exploitative. The multi-modal AI in the story was scarily addictive. That other readers thought of her as adorable and loving made her manipulations all the more terrifying. Too many people will become addicted to the shiny blinking and empty lights of AI. “Another AI! Hex no!” laughed Lazarus. “Try to stay in bed. When you long to feel your feet upon the ground, be careful in rising."
