Unfortunately you can't stop progress, no matter how bleak it may be, this is just one of the small steps towards the singularity, what did people expect? We first saw learning A.I in gaming when they taught it how to beat the best players in the world? And people got a little spooked but told themselves "Well at least it doesn't do X,Y and Z." yet here we are lol Simply put, the genie is out of the lamp, A.I is becoming open source, and eventually will get to the point where no copy right will be able to tell the difference between a human artist and A.I. Artists are outraged just like how the assembly line workers were before machines took there jobs. If the internet has taught me anything, the more you try to censor or get rid of something or regulate it, the moment that happens, you just created a market, Internet prohibition. I'm sure the people with physical hindrances are happy about A.I art. It's progress, it's technology. The real problem isn't the artists, it is that for the average person, a pretty picture creature by AI or entirely by hand is still just a pretty picture to them. I mean, look at all the portrait artists that lost their jobs when the camera was invented, and now it seems like overtop to hire a painter to paint your portrait nowadays. Also, the camera has allowed the development of new art techniques and forms that did not exist until its invention. Technology has always forced art and artists to change as the average consumer never thinks about the time and work it takes to make said piece, they just look at the end result. Art lives and dies, by the viewer and the average consumer, A.I has/will effectively turn art into an assembly line to produce more pretty things for the average person, and opens the gate for more people to make art. For better or worse, it is what it is. Artists are going to have to adapt, because like I said the genies out of the lamp.
