I have so far seen four areas where AI has actually been very useful, and I'd argue in one, maybe two of them, it has been pretty transformative. EDIT: And even then, only a couple of them can be supported in any way with the current model, while others would require it to be able to run locally. 1. Assisting in the boring, repetitive bits of coding 2. Managing large datasets 3. Audio, specifically noise removal and isolating things from the audio 4. Medical and scientific uses The audio one has been the most useful for me personally. Not really into generating anything with it, but using it to isolate instruments, different voices, noise, etc. etc. has been really useful for various things. In that sense it's nice that it's basically just being a tool, rather than appropriating someone's art. And it's also just a lot better than traditional methods for removing background noises from video calls... =)
