AI will be the death of humanity. Art is the big one that bothers me but so many other things are bringing the end. People seek companionship, therapy, ways to scam; it is used for jobs that entry level people used to get experience (now removing that path)... I can go on but people BELIEVE the LLMs and that is bringing some SERIOUS problems. I do a bit opf hobby level software development and even there it is getting good enough to fool people into thinking that they can code fully off the AI, making code that is good enough to function, but still bad enough to not be to the level of a good developer... the other side of that coin is that now a senior dev can use LLMs to create code that could have been done by a team of juniors, which sounds great until you realize that no more senior devs are being made through the process! We all saw Terminator, but I don't see AI as taking over like that, it is instead making us stupider, lazier, and is killing the human spirit in so many ways. Yes, dumb people will be fooled by anything, but as LLMs get more sophisticated it will up its game and be capable of fooling more people over time.
