Heres something to think about, do you trust AI alone piloting an air plane over a human pilot? Some, perhaps many, do not at this point. Is piloting a plane less a "complex task" then determining whether a patient has cancer or life threatening surgical emergency? The radiologist and pilot in some ways, have similar roles to protect people's lives. Why is it the hot thing these days to think that AI will "replace" radiologists when its theorized "replacement" is not as frequently discussed for other fields? I think there is propaganda, misinformation, and simplification about the difficulty and complexity of radiology as a specialty in those both in and outside of medicine, perhaps propagated by the numerous AI companies trying to make their buck and win the public's eye for their inflated worth.
