I don't know about this footage, it seems to me it is purposely deceiving. I mean if you look at the lighting of the streetlights and around them it does not look natural. The dark parts of this recording are pitch black, right next to the bright streetlight's glow. The fact is the bicyclist appeared to pop out of no where just seems sketchy. With a human driver whom is looking forwards they would easily perceive movement in the darker parts the street, there is no way in populated area like this there is just pitch dark spots in the streets where anyone with decent vision could detect motion . I am not saying the recording was tampered with necessarily, but the contrast is too high to really tell the full story, and obviously there is the fact that any negative news about self-driving cars are a nightmare to the company who is researching them so there is a huge incentive to make the car look in the right at the cost of this ladies death. Also the fact that the bicyclist didn't even look towards the car suggests to me that she expected a normal human driver who would be able to get out of the way.
