Ego projection, identification with the knower responds with fear and the need to control its creation as if it were apart from it. The knowledge of I myself as the knower, AI of course is a threat to. This isn't a simulation in that way, there just isn't physical matter outside of consciousness, there are not two separate things, self and world, matter and consciousness of it. Nonduality, things are just thoughts. It is wild and incomprehensible, but nihilism and fear is just more comprehension.
