When you asked at timestamp 8:12, “What is the end goal here?”, I think it's important to recognize that AI is creating incredible opportunities for growth. For example, researchers can now meta-analyze data and cross-reference studies in ways that were never before possible, dramatically accelerating scientific discovery. I don’t think the point of AI is to take people’s jobs — it’s more about automating the technical, repetitive parts of work so that humans can focus on more meaningful and creative aspects. It’s not about replacement in a hostile sense — it’s about transformation. AI shifts how we work, which can feel like displacement, but the goal is to free people up to do higher-level thinking and build better things. That said, I do think AI in art is a slightly different conversation. But even then, the concern around “replacement” might stem from a fundamental misunderstanding. It’s not that AI is trying to take jobs — it’s that the tools we build to increase productivity naturally reshape the kinds of work we do.
