I'm nearing 70 and no AI "companions" for me. I recognize the human animal is social and have to fight to find the few third spaces we have left. It's normal to lose connections as we age because people die off. It is not normal for a teenager to not be out and about hanging with friends all the time. Young people need to fight to bring back social connection or they will wither away.
