ChatGPT is not real AI, it sees languages as patterns, it has no conscious understanding of what it outputs. People don't understand how neural network works, that's why they are scare - people are scared of what they don't know, the unknown.
People are also easily influenced by movies. James Cameron’s Terminator for example - is a naive view of AI. If AI is in a war with human, it will be releasing a super virus to kill us all instead of using nukes - which will destroyed the world and itself.
If androids in the future are as sophisticated as those in Blade Runner, they will outlived us - we will be extinct and they will live forever. They will have the longevity for travelling to another star system.
