I'm currently working with an old legacy system that no one but me understands. The system is scheduled to be decommissioned in about 3 years. This means that nobody is willing to invest anything in it. Or train replacements, or automate the development of it.
Is it possible that jobs that are already doomed, and as such are not worth automating away, are the safest ones right now?
