On one hand, sometimes it's interesting to see what AI can do with certain concepts. On the other hand, more and more people seem to be passing off AI generated images as genuine, and as you said, entering them into galleries and competitions. I honestly hate that idea so much.
Now I'm not even that good at art despite working on it for over 20 years, but I don't want to have my entire being become obsolete because some schmuck decided they'd rather have a bot do all the work. Like others have said here, art is all I know. If human artists become obsolete, their livelihood is taken away from them, then life as a whole becomes pointless.
