As an engineering student on a Master's degree, I'm surprised by how many of my classmates and some of my teachers use chatgpt for classes and tests. I don't use chatgpt in any instance for several reasons, one of them is that I feel it kind of beats the purpose of learning. Makes me wonder why the f*ck people study a Master's degree if it's not for learning. As you say, it's because of the doors it opens and the income you earn because of it, and I can't really blame them. I remember having a conversation after finishing my degree, with some classmates, about how they felt that, while subjects were about things of our degree, they didn't feel like it had prepared them to have a job. Some of my friends have told me that they regret going to uni because in our country there's other educational options shorter than a degree, that allow you to have a good job with less study time. All of it makes me kind of sad, because as you mention in your video, University is an old-fashioned institution that people use to get better jobs, even outside the USA.
