The answer is yes and it's been the case not since AI, but rather since the internet. This has just been lagging for a long time and probably still will. Having to be somewhere for hours on end to listen to someone whose only claim to being listened to is a degree from the same instituions that they are being paid by (which is somehow not a conflict of interest) and whose credibility is in question as graduates do not get hired.
