If AI is getting worse--including my own experience--but they (the people behind AI) are claiming it's getting better, then I think the answer is clear. We've hit the peak of AI intelligence. I have personally found Grok "Projects" to be horrible. It was promoted as making the experience better, but I have found it to be far worse than just using Grok basic.
