I am not an artist, but I am disabled. I want to offer a contrary opinion. Btw, I am not defending A.I. art's theft. I believe the solution is just for the courts to make one simple ruling: Copyright protections are laws made for humans. Anything made by an A.I. is not subject to copyright law, as it is not a human and thus has no rights to copyright protection. If that happens, investment stops dead overnight. Also if that ruling was made, few artists would care anymore because their jobs wouldn't be at risk in the production sector anyway. That being said, I have Aspergers / autism. When I draw. My hand-eye coordination is terrible. I can't really make the same pencil brush-strokes left to right, and right to left. Meaning I can't make anything symmetrical without it looking absolutely awful. And I throw away whatever I try to make in disgust. However, using the A.I. I am able to generate a thousand awful looking things, and photoshop to pull, cut, paste, tuck and smooth things together. It takes hours of hard work. Because I'm basically making art by collage and melting it together myself. I don't even know if what I am doing counts as art. But it gets me the images I use for my D&D games for my flesh-monsters and my players like it. Stable Diffusion allows me to do that for free. That being said. I do feel icky about using 4chans A.I. of choice.
