I think the mistake many companies made is comparing to the wrong base line. Some companies say the job it's done 5 time faster so I can cut 80% of the staff. But your competitor also go faster so the one cuting 80% is moving much slower than its competitor keeping his employees and leveraging AI. So the one with lack of vision actually is not leveraging AI as much as his comptetitor and most probably not adapting his products to the new reality.
