art "community" was always hostile. now there's ai hate-tourists in the mix, who dont care about art and just here to witchhunt ai while praising human generated slop (to me it doesnt matter if what people make is good or bad - it's their business, but these people would absolutely shit on what they now praise, before ai was a thing) for not being ai generated slop. neither of these types of people actually care about art, they're just looking for validation. they feel ai threatens them, because they dont get satisfaction from the process, but the result - which they imagine comes with validation. now that ai can produce the result, they see no point in actually doing art, so they hate ai. ai is good, because it will draw a clean line - people who love art, the process, the skill and people who fucking hate it or just use it as a vehicle to get money and clout - the kind of people that have been ruining art before ai was a thing. there's also the stubborn, mindless inability to think outside the binary box. if something uses ai even a bit - slop. doesnt matter if it's good, doesnt matter theres a lot of other effort put into it, doesnt matter that otherwise it would be impossible to produce. these people are fucking stupid. if they werent, perhaps they would target the companies that run the ais and do all the unethical shit that EVERY company does. it's just a tool
