Luddites, like you, had the objection that the technology isn't being leveraged for our common betterment, but to increase differences in power and wealth: instead of you being freer because your work is less needed, you and your well being is made obsolete, and the purpose of productivity turned entirely towards exploitation.
Wikipedia: The Luddites were members of a 19th-century movement of English textile workers who opposed the use of certain types of automated machinery due to concerns relating to worker pay and output quality.
(much the same as if bad automated brandonish writing is given preference over real Brandon writing because of the volume and profit margins, until you can't sell a book because an approximation of great work sells about as well as actual great work, but for a fraction of the cost.)
