Unfortunately, AI isn't doing anything different than human creators already do. Authors read and are inspired by, (or trained on), other people's creations. J K Rowling didn't invent the hero's journey. The structure of the first, second, third act. Wizards, goblins, witches, wands, etc. are all artifacts of humanity's collective imagination. She arranged elements that she picked up through her experiences, and something unique emerged. That's creativity. That's what AI does. I'm still horrified by the implications, but unless we start telling every artis to declare their sources of inspiration and to compensate all the creators that inspired them then this line of argument will fail.
