I do believe AI has a future. It's technology with incredible potential. Just like the switch from calculating everything by hand to giving the task to PCs, this could fundamentally change the solution to some problems we are facing.
...that said, none of this applies to "creating art" via large computing (what this "AI" really is). It can take a large input of information and process it. Why this tool was ever advertised to write our birthday cards and be virtual girlfriends, I refuse to understand.
