Honestly, as an AI engineer I kinda hope that it fails too just so that it filters out all the vapourware. I think the vast majority of the AI companies and start-ups are overhyped and don't have the technical foundations. I can see the open-source labs (like Moonshot, High-Flyer, etc) mostly survive and even if they don't, we can pick up from where they left off. I can see Google Gemini still being a thing just because of how massive Google is and how well they are doing from the bottom to the top. I don't know what's gonna happen to Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT) and xAI (Grok) since they do have the technical foundations but not the money but I can see one of the surviving and honestly I would prefer Anthropic to survive over the OpenAI hype-machine.
