This topic resonates with me. My daughter draws a lot and she has a decent following on social media. One day, she show me pictures of AI generated pictures and she was really upset about it. She told me she don't know what she should do now.
Honestly, I myself don't know how this will pen out in the future. I can only tell her to continue what she likes and don't stop drawing.
The way forward from what I can see is that corporates and businesses need to recognize the work of artists and don't simply just buy into using AI generated content. But alas, cost is a big factor for businesses and most likely they will choose the cheapest path...
