3:45 You misrepresented the copyrightability of AI generated content. AI generated content WITH sufficient human involvement IS eligible for copyright protections. Content that does NOT have sufficient human involvement is NOT eligible. This means if you write a prompt into a txt2img generator you can not just claim the copyright on what it spits out because that is not sufficient human involvement. However, if you use generative AI tools as part of your creation process the final work may be eligible. The exact amount of, and nature of the human involvement is ambiguous and the copyright office has asked that if you want to register something involving the use of AI that you provide as much information as you can about how the work was created so they can determine what about the work is eligible. It may be that portions of the work will be protected while other portions are not. Equally valid is that it could be determined that the work as a whole is fundamentally reliant on the human involvement allowing for full protection of the entire work because no part of the work can be separated out as solely from the AI. Copyright with respect to generative AI is far more complex than a simple statement of "You can't copyright AI works."
