"Who you think you are is tight to your job, right ?" - WRONG ! - It hasn’t always been that way! This mindset is a product of the industrial revolutions, where social value came to be defined by one’s job. How many people work in jobs they dislike, just to earn money and buy things that grant them a sense of status? Imagine an economy of abundance powered by AI, where access matters more than ownership. Instead of buying a car that sits idle in your garage, you simply call a robotaxi when you need one. Instead of tying yourself down to a house, you can travel freely and find shelter wherever you go. Education becomes fully personalized, removing the need for traditional schools. You share ideas and experiences with friends purely for the joy of learning, not as a stepping stone to a career—because “jobs,” as we define them today, will no longer be relevant. In such a world, power will no longer come from money, but from the ability to influence and inspire people for whom money has lost its meaning. Once everyone has access to what they need, wealth based on possession becomes powerless. Instead, people will be “rich” in terms of being—their creativity, their relationships, their reputation—rather than having. In a hyper-abundance society, where traditional economic rewards lose significance, new forms of recognition and influence will emerge. These might include: Reputation and social influence (trust, community recognition). Prestige access to scarce but non-material goods (unique experiences, leadership roles). Governance power (influence over decision-making processes). Social impact scoring, a kind of symbolic currency tied to meaningful contributions rather than material accumulation. But this raises the question: is AI a danger for humanity? AI is not inherently hostile to humans—it has no reason to “eliminate” us. The real risk is not AI itself, but how humans choose to use it. In the wrong hands, AI could erode freedoms, deepen inequality, or destabilize societies. At least during the transition, before AI tools become widespread and equitably distributed, there will be turbulence: power struggles, social unrest, and attempts to monopolize these technologies. In short: AI will not destroy humanity—but it may radically transform what it means to be human. Whether that transformation empowers us or diminishes us will depend on the values, governance, and collective choices we make in shaping this new era.
