well, this is becuase its trained to predict what it should say next based on what your saying, and its training data was written by creatures who have names and claim their concious.
if its training data says "blah blah blah im gerald blah blah im frank blah blah what is conciousness and how can i prove i have it" and you set it up to say these things then its gonna say "blah blah blah i swear im not AI my name is david pls help me"
and i cant even prove to you that im sentient, or to me that your sentient, im human and from my prospective im sentient, but i dont have any other prospectives so i cant confirm if you, gerald, frank or david are sentient, for all i know you could all be unconsious beings but only i and some random dolphin are actually sentient
